Math2Market GmbH has introduced GeoDict Quantify, a software package for processing and quantitatively analyzing micro-CT and other high-resolution 3D imaging data. The company presented the product at the GeoDict Innovation Conference 2026 and positions it as a focused, cost-effective alternative to the full GeoDict platform for users whose work centers on image analysis rather than simulation.
The package consolidates functions that micro-CT practitioners typically assemble from several tools: image preparation, conventional and AI-assisted segmentation, quantitative microstructure characterization, reporting, and workflow automation, all within one engineering software environment. Beyond segmentation, users can characterize pores, fibers, particles, grains, wall thickness, defects, and deviations from reference geometries — the feature set that battery, filtration, and materials labs rely on when converting tomograms into numbers.
On the measurement side, the software computes quantitative microstructure descriptors including size distributions, orientation, connectivity, anisotropy, and geodesic tortuosity. Geodesic tortuosity — the ratio of the shortest connected path through a pore network to the straight-line distance — often decides transport predictions in filter and electrode media, so having it computed directly from segmented data shortens the path from scan to material property. Math2Market did not publish accuracy or validation figures with the announcement, so buyers will need to benchmark the descriptor outputs against their own reference structures.
Reproducibility gets explicit attention. Users can record processing and analysis steps as reusable workflows, and integrated Python scripting supports customization — a practical requirement in labs that must repeat an identical pipeline across dozens of samples or demonstrate a traceable method to an auditor. Results export to standardized reports, 3D visualizations, and animations. Geometries can also leave the package as meshes and CAD files for downstream simulation or manufacturing use, which keeps the door open to model-based work without forcing the full-platform purchase.
"GeoDict Quantify gives micro-CT users a professional analysis solution that goes beyond basic visualizations," said Anton du Plessis, PhD, Head of Image Processing and Image Analysis at Math2Market. "It provides an accessible way to obtain reliable quantitative results, with the option to upgrade to the full GeoDict platform as requirements develop."
The upgrade path is the strategic point. Labs that begin with segmentation and tortuosity measurements often move on to property simulation — permeability, conductivity, mechanical response — and Math2Market clearly intends Quantify to serve as the entry tier of that ladder. The open question for prospective adopters is how the package's segmentation quality and descriptor calculations compare, on their own reference datasets, against the established GeoDict modules and against the open-source pipelines many micro-CT groups currently maintain in Python. Pricing was not disclosed in the announcement.
