Features

  • SuPAR 2026 release adds six features: SuPAR Insight, Assisted Part Inspection, Follow-up Inspection, Extended AI Capabilities, Custom POI Fields and Auto Save.
  • SuPAR Insight displays completed inspection results in a browser-based 3D viewer with access-controlled shared folders.
  • Extended AI Capabilities add segmentation for welding and sealant inspection, prepared via ribbon markup for AI Smartpoints in SuPAR Composer.
  • Custom POI Fields support custom fields and conditional questions on the iPad, including offline operation.
  • Follow-up Inspection starts new inspections from completed ones, carrying over checkpoints and findings for rework verification.

SuPAR has announced its 2026 release, expanding its augmented reality quality inspection platform with new capabilities for collaboration, guided inspection, AI-supported checks and documentation. The release, presented at www.supar.tech, covers the full inspection cycle: preparing projects, reviewing results and checking reworked parts.

The vendor positions the update as a way to keep inspection activities and information connected across manufacturing teams. Six additions ship in the release: SuPAR Insight, Assisted Part Inspection, Follow-up Inspection, Extended AI Capabilities, Custom POI Fields and Auto Save.

What does SuPAR Insight change for teams?

SuPAR Insight gives teams a shared workspace for projects, checklists and completed inspections. The module displays completed inspection results and checkpoint information in a browser-based 3D viewer, so users can review findings in the context of the inspected model without dedicated software.

Shared folders with defined access rights control which people can see which projects and results. By moving inspection data into a shared environment, SuPAR Insight links project preparation, inspection and review, and the company says this supports collaboration between the teams responsible for manufacturing quality control.

How does Assisted Part Inspection guide inspectors?

Assisted Part Inspection delivers real-time, color-coded guidance on the iPad to help inspectors spot potentially missing or moved parts. The feature directs attention to areas that warrant a closer look and lets inspectors review selected components against the digital reference to assess potential discrepancies.

Preparation happens in SuPAR Composer, where selected CAD parts become part inspection checkpoints. SuPAR states the design intent plainly: the final decision remains in the inspector's hands. The tool supports the evaluation; the inspector determines and records the result.

Can rework verification stay connected to findings?

Follow-up Inspection addresses the stage after a defect is found. Once rework is performed, teams must recheck affected parts and document the outcome. The feature starts a new inspection from a completed one, carrying over previous checkpoints and findings so earlier results remain at hand.

This continuity preserves the context of the original finding as inspectors move into subsequent checks, connecting inspection results with rework verification rather than treating the second pass as a separate exercise.

What do the AI extensions cover?

SuPAR 2026 extends AI-supported inspection workflows with segmentation capabilities aimed specifically at welding and sealant inspection. Ribbon markup for AI Smartpoints in SuPAR Composer simplifies preparation of segmentation tasks, and improved object detection markups support the setup of AI inspection tasks.

The additions expand the toolset for teams building AI-supported workflows and preparing the digital references used during checks. SuPAR does not publish detection accuracy figures for these models, so buyers evaluating weld inspection performance will need to request validation data for their specific joint geometries.

How do Custom POI Fields capture process data?

Different inspection processes require different information. Custom POI Fields let teams build checkpoint forms around their own workflows, using custom fields and conditional questions to capture process-specific details.

Inspectors record answers directly on the iPad, including when working offline. Captured information then flows into reports and SuPAR Insight, keeping process-specific details attached to inspection findings. The company frames this as a structured way to document what is needed to understand a result and determine the next action.

What adoption question does the release raise?

SuPAR 2026 bundles collaboration, guidance, AI and documentation features into one platform, and its offline-capable checkpoint forms target real shop-floor constraints. The open question for manufacturing teams is whether a unified AR workflow — shared 3D review plus AI segmentation for welds and sealants — replaces their existing inspection documentation systems or must integrate with them.
